Late last year, I visited Dees_lover (aka Dees) at his house as I often do, sometimes with other local doll lovers. I brought with me two dolls - one was my Juisheng Doll, called Lily, and a new smaller doll from SmartDoll, whom I call Fyre due to her bright red hair.
One thing that I enjoy at his house is the relaxed and chill environment - which is meticulously maintained and has so many places to take picture. There are benches, tables, backdrops, a Koi pond, great decor all around, and of course music always playing!
He also is very warm and generous and allows me to see all the dolls there, and even photo them together.
In this occasion, I wanted to finish a set for Juisheng Doll with Lily, and this grand setting was perfect. I did set up lighting using a strobe light, and a low aperture setting on the camera. As usual, I used full manual control of the camera.
One thing I always do is view each picture after it was taken to see if any adjustments are needed, but I feel a larger 12" monitor may really help, especially to see if focus and lighting are good. This is something I am looking into.
